How do I implement a dimmer switch into my energy saving lights?
January 27, 2012 6:28 am Hobby OnlineOk, just going to say it as early as possible in the post … IT CAN BE DONE, and you won’t destroy a light switch of the bulbs…
You need to purchase a dimmer switch that allows you to control energy efficient bulbs, they are commonly known as a digital dimmer switch. This allows for a more precise control over the dimmable energy saving bulb. A dimmable system should cost around £18/switch and £6.99/bulb (correct at time of publishing).
They take around 10 minutes to install (provided you turn the mains power off before working on it, or else you may be out for the count) first remove the bulb from the Modern Lighting, then swap the switch, then replace the bulbs – then power that baby up!
